Alternator upgrade

Hi all,

FJ73 owner here with the 3F. Alternator isn't keeping up anymore and is essentially trickle charging the battery. Have had it all looked at.

What alternators are people using?

Keen to put a bigger one in to handle the extra accessories

I think the 80 series 3fe alternators are 90 amp. Not sure about the pulley or connections.
I think you will need the one with external fan. That one is 80 amp. Apparently there are two types,
the 90 amp internal fan alt won't fit in the 73.
I think your old alt is a 60 amp.
