I'm replacing my water pump and hoses and belt and while I'm in there I'm going to inspect/test my alternator. Its not giving me any problems but I do have 150K miles. If it find something, is there a good shop in KC that anyone would recommend to rebuild it? Alternatively, I could just buy a new OEM alternator but there $350. On the 200, they are located in a terrible position and a PITA to replace.

If you strike out in KC there is an old timer in Fort Scott (100 miles south) that is cheap and honest. Last alternator he did for me was $40. Last starter was $27. May be worth the trip down 69 HWY.

Tried calling them today several times. Just get a busy signal. Does anyone know if they are still in business?

It’s been a year or 2 since I’ve been in there. small one man shop. Does simi truck and aircraft starters and Alternator/magnetos typically.
