Anyone have an alternator bracket for a ‘77 BJ40? Not sure if it’s the same as the FJ bracket or not. Mine looks as though it’s been rewelded several times over the years.

Do you think its the original? It looks a bit homemade to me, like they welded 2 bits together to get enough adjustment.

It may not be. I agree that it looks homemade. Though some parts of it have nice looking edges so I can’t tell. Could have been for something else that was ‘converted’
This is what a 77 bj40 bracket looks like from part number 16381-56020, this is from a 9/77 There is also 16381-56010 which is earlier.
As you can see, the OEM bracket has the part number on it. This fits Coaster Dyna Toyoace as well.
Megazip say they have them for $21USD + postage, but I dont know if they really have them.
