Alcan Spring Lift

Hello all...I am back in the fold!!! I just purchased another 55 after years of having a void.

The rear suspension's hurting. I took my wife out to the first mile of steelbender and as soon as we started out I got a nasty rear wheel well tire rub, the pig has an internal roll cage which made it sound HORRIBLE. On other occasions just daily driving my wife has noticed that it flex's a ton and the tire is up in the wheel well again.

Since it is already lifted I had nothing to go off of when I called Alcan. Can anyone give me some measurements on a stocker so I can compare that against what I have?...front and rear please. I am thinking somewhere between 4-5 inches should be fine, if it is a little short I can get a slightly taller shackle.

I have a 2 1/2" lift from Spector on my '55 and it seems just fine https://forum.ih8mud.com/fj55-iron-...972-september-potm-cruiser-guy-guatemala.html. I'm running 33x9.5 BFG MT's and I can't imagine it being taller. Folks have a tough time getting in now. I think your wife would not be pleased with a 4-5" lift.

I have read some posts about using a 60 OME spring with some 4+ shackles.
