We have officially released our standard GX470 offering! We completed all of our development work and are now ready to offer this as a standard product. Here are a few details and pictures from our most recent install. Let us know what you think! You can order this system here:

  • Full extension, ball bearing, lock in-lock out slides: Effortless access to ALL of your gear. A lot of systems lose access to a significant portion of the drawer because they do not have true full extension slides
  • LARGE drawers: We were able to extend the drawers to 36inches deep, combined with the full-extension slides, you can get ALOT of gear in these drawers
  • top-side Wing Access to side cubbies: a great place to stash more gear!
  • Slide out table: Perfect for creating a psuedo tailgate on the GX. You can extend the Slide Out Table even with the drawer closed to provide a work surface for cameras, coffee, etc
  • Integrated, quick deploying sleeper: as far as we know, this is the only convertible, integrated sleeping/drawer system on the market. Simply fold the 2nd row seats down and flip the sleeper out. This takes less than one minute
  • retains 2nd row recline: we designed the system to retain about half of the total recline capability of the 2nd row
  • Made in the USA: Proudly made in Colorado!

Shop Update time! We are pushing hard to add manufacturing capacity here at Air Down Gear Up, doing everything we can to bring lead times down! We have been heavily investing in capital equipment, optimizing our operations, increasing inventory on hand and are currently in the process of hiring to improve lead times.

By far the most exciting piece of all of this is the new CNC we brought into the ADGU shop recently. This represents a colossal upgrade to our previous setup which is now dedicated to all of our metal work, further optimizing our work flow. The new CNC allows drastically faster throughput of parts, so we can spend more time packaging and getting you guys your systems!

We've also added a second Markforged 3D printer, adding further parts capacity to keep up with the new CNC. We keep both of our printers pretty busy turning out parts! It's very satisfying to walk into the shop in the morning to new parts that have been printed overnight.

It's been through the support of all our wonderful customers that we have been able to keep growing, we will forever be grateful to the 'Mud crowd and all our fellow enthusiasts!

We are introducing a new material offering for the SS1 systems! The new material is a Richlite-clad Birch Plywood. We have been using Richlite on our Slide Out Table for a while now, and we absolutely love it. It has a beautiful matte black finish with a slight texture, similar to the feel of a heavy craft paper. It is water (and stain!), scratch and heat resistant; typically found as an industrial kitchen counter top. The Richlite is easy to clean up and wears in nicely.

This is a nice alternative to carpet, which can absorb odors, spills, dog hair, etc. and the Richlite provides even more durability than the prefinished birch on its own. Additionally, and perhaps most importantly, it looks amazing! We recently had a chance to install a full Richlite system into a GX470, and couldn't be happier with how the system looks installed.

This is now our premium material choice and we are looking forward to building out more vehicles with this material!

That is the Exped Mega mat, which we can't say enough good things about! It's a great fit for our systems and the vehicle and is unbelievably comfortable while still being reasonably thin, preserving overhead space.

I'll DM you for more details about your specific system needs on the GX460!

We totally missed this great you tube video one of our Earlier GX470 customers put together this summer! Wanted to link this here, it's a great overview of the system (and drawers in general!)

Hi Everyone, Just wanted to provide the heads up that we are running a black friday sale! We are offering 50% off slide out tables with the purchase of a system. Use code SOT50 at checkout

We get a lot of questions about how much weight our Slide Out Table can support, so we put this video together to demonstrate just how much it can hold! Cutting straight to the point: We recommend 25 pounds as the max load, which is more than enough for meal prep, staging cameras, etc. In this video we load the table up to 40 pounds just to demonstrate what it can handle!

Kitchen Covers now available! We have created a kit that allows you to have a flat, load bearing surface with wing and tie downs when you aren't running a fridge on your dedicated kitchen. We certainly understand that you don't always need a fridge in the vehicle, so we designed this cover to be easy to install allowing you to configure your system exactly how your current use-case demands. This is 100% retrofittable (i'm pretty sure that's a word, right?) and installs/removes in just a few minutes.

You still retain 100% function of the kitchen, and the 'fridge top' effectively just becomes a short drawer/tray. The fridge tie-down points can still be used to secure gear. We put together a brief overview video, let us know what you think!

The pictures and video all feature a Land Cruiser, but it looks/functions the same in a GX!

We just recently got this awesome double-stack drawer with a kitchen set up for a GX470 customer. This is one of the Dissent Offroad vehicles, which is the best armor around!

We don't have this listed specifically on the website, but let me know if anyone is interested in a set up like this. We are sending out/installing more and more of these double-stack + kitchen systems, it really transforms the cargo area of the vehicle!

New Product Alert! We have just launched a removable drawer cover cutting board! This ships assembled and snaps right on top of all existing SS1 Drawers, including our GX470. All the pics are shown on a 200 LC, but it will be the same design/appearance for the GX470.

This removable cutting board adds even more utility to your SS1 drawer and sleeper system. Made of incredibly durable Richlite composite, this cutting board will stand up to heavy duty use. Resistant to knife cuts, heat and water, Richlite won't warp or crack over time.

The cutting board stows securely on top of your Air Down Gear Up drawer, turning it into valuable working space. The feet firmly hold the cutting board in place while traveling, and allow quick removal for access to your gear or transferring the cutting board outside the vehicle.
