Just to clear this up, I have no affiliation with dieselgiant.com
It really does seem like it's just the same problem over and over. The other day the beast wouldn't start and all it took was a hair dryer aimed at the fuel pump for a few minutes and it started right up. So that's good news. I'll just need to carry around a hair dryer and an extension cord for a while I guess!
I don't think the solenoid or "spill control valve" can be taken apart, but I'm not sure. I think until I hear from my contact about how to remove it and if it can be replaced I'm going to leave it alone or else I may end up making things worse... I'm *really* tempted just to try to unscrew it, though, and see... the pic I posted ooks like it could just be unscrewed to remove it.
Must... exercise... self control...
I just know I'm going to wreck something completely in my efforts to solve the problem! What is it they say about the road to hell??
If I hear nothing by this weekend I'm going to try to find some purging cleaner and purge it and then see...
Cheers,
Max
