Studded tires are legal on the road from Oct 1 to Apr 30.

Another 18 months and the Aircare scam is supposed to be over. Not that I trust Chrispy Clark not to bring something else in. I am sure that some of the Liberal business friends would like to see it stay in one form or another. The 92 is done with Aircare testing. The 91 is stuck with having to do two more tests. What pisses me off is the 91 (built in Oct of 91) is actual for the 92 market year. Registration of JDMs are based on their construction date. You could have a 92 Camry which is actually older then my 91. I did ask about that but ICBC would not budge and blamed it on the federal government who use the build date as apposed to the market date.

My current opacity (0), a year before was (8.4). Dyno test abandoned after 3 errors. I'm due this Sept and will be interesting to see results with new software.

Neither Daschshunds have come close to failing yet. ;p But the arbitrary nature of Aircare still pisses me off as does the time and money wasted every year. If they want to cut down on diesel particulate emissions, they could go after some of the local BC Transit buses.
Actually transit buses are some of the cleaner ones. The worst are the older dump trucks and rigs.
You haven't seen the ones around Abbotsford. I've seen the CVSE mobile sniffer unit pull over older dump trucks on the By-pass & Hwy 11. Never seen them pull over a transit bus. Coast Mountain likely does better regular maintenance than BC Transit.
Sorry was talking Cost Mountain the one i drove was old and never had a puff of smoke out of it, was impressive. They probably turn a blind eye to the transit busses, we all know the dump trucks and certain trucking company trucks are far more unsafe. Would rather them deal with those than a bus running dirty.
I was commenting to a friend how the local abbotsford buses need a tune, as they roll coal off the line and dark even once they spool up...seems to me there would be some fuel savings to a good tune. Sucks I have to pay for their fuel but have no control in how it's wasted...
My LC pulls errors on the aircare driving test every year, I tell them every year but they say they still have to try it 3 times before giving me the idle test....another waste of my time and money.

Mine read 17.x when I went in April this year. Two years earlier it read 15.x, but i guess I also didn't have the power rod mod and such the two years earlier.
I will say though that the only time I've seen fuel consumption on a fill up in the 17 l/100km range was when John did the power rod mod and was adjusting the tune.
I think my 1fz powered wagon is in that range of fuel consumption on there print out too. I'll have to dig it out I just passed a month or so ago.

Final (hopefully) year of Aircare, and I failed in the 81 
Opacity reading of 37.46, allowable is 30.
This year they were actually able to keep it on the dyno compared to previous years where it constantly tripped it out and they just did a sniff test.
It only gets driven on rare weekends lately so not too concerned about it.

Mine stayed on the dyno too for the first time ever. I passed with a little higher reading then normal. Last time ever.....I asked the grumpy lady what's next for her and she said she was going to relax and ride out the E I and enjoy her severance (2 weeks for every year she's worked there). Good riddance!
One more cash grab operation and useless union gone... Hurrah!
Here is a cheap quick fix. I do it as a preventive measure before each Air Care. Make sure you have a good clean air filter (some remove the air filter just for the test and re-install right afterward). Also, make sure your tire pressure is on the high side. Change your fuel filter and fill it with Seafoam and add 1/2 bottle of Power Service to your tank. Run your truck for a good hour to make sure everything is up to the proper operating temps and take then it in for a retest. I notice a long time ago that Power Service really reduced the visible smoke.
I just drive it in there, pass and drive out. No preparation, drama, studded tires and other BS. WTF is wrong with you people? lol
