Woody,
Didn't a rear pinion snap already? I believe his chic was driving it on the road when this happened.

teeth on the ring gear....not sure yet if it's a bad ring-pinion set or a setup problem.

Bezel is upside down because it's trimmed for the winch cable to run thru...running it correctly would have mean almost eliminating the bottom piece...

Testing weekend pics??

apparrently, it didn't take a weekend to generate a photo op...lol

More info pending, may swing by the shop tonight...any pics would have to be scanned since my digi was in use elsewhere this weekend....(tho, I did try and convince them to get a CD burned when they get the prints....)

He's prolly hideing the roll over pics from you Woody!

i really love your rig nice pic,s thanks lot keep us up on the rig k

Ya know that prolly isn't much more work, building something from scratch, than it is to build/modify over time. Could be wrong though. :D

the sheetmetal work DOES take lots of time, and Jim bead-rolled all the panels for strength....

I "think" the buggy is coming down to Attica (tho not competiting) this weekend, outta get a couple action shots of it....

Ummm. NO. For those who have never built from scratch you have no appreciation for what it takes to build up a rig from a pile of metal. Just remember every little piece has to be fabricated. There is upsides granted but it is definately more work, by a long shot.

Cool. I've never done it and I admit I have no idea how much work it would take. :D

Maybe if you've built the chassis once or twice before? If most of the bugs were worked out?

But then again prolly not. A friend of mine who builds jeep buggies in Denver charges like over $40K for a turnkey and most *fully* built 40's I see in TT are in the high $teen-20k.

chassis prices alone run in the $3k-6k range....no motor, no drivetrain, just tube....parts aren't too bad, labor is a killer.

I've looked at the Aggressor chassis, and am guessing there is a minimum of $15-18k in the rig, parts alone....now add in all the labor to bend, plan, install, get running, tweak, paint, etc....

no wonder most "new" buggies run $25k or better....

I've thought about buying a chassis for, what, about $3-5K and building it as funds would allow...

Let someone else work all the bugs out on there time and let me do all the assembly. ;) I don't mind paying for that. I just really don't want a jeep sheetmetaled chassis. Yuck.

I saw this rig at the UROC comp this weekend in Attica. The attention to detail is awesome, and the fabrication incorporated some great ideas I had not seen before.

Good Job Guys!
