Hello 70s Folks
I'm interested in a 73 or 74 series but as I live in the States, I guess I'll have to wait until at least 2010 for the 25 year rule to apply to these rigs. I like the look of this series and they have some great options. I would have loved to bought Stone's old truck.
There is one on e-bay now however, an LJ73. Has anyone looked at it? Any ideas if it's something I should pursue or avoid?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Peter

Thanks for the replies but I must not have been clear. I'm looking for a 70 series with the removable top.
If you search lj73 on e-bay, it pops right up. Sorry, I don't know how to do a link.
Thanks
Peter
So, cut it! :) In all seriousness, best bet is to wait a few more years.

That LJ-73 is a Bundera aka "light-duty 70 series" with Hilux axles. Still stout but not built as tough as the other 70's.

WOW! too expensive mate

lulo, that 70 is a legal 70 import to the USA( I think). I don't know that rig. But you have to take the ad in context. There were no 70 series trucks sold in the USA, nor diesels. The 70 in that ad to me looks like the rare 70 series we got in Canada from 85-87. And we did not get a lot of em. These Canadian market 70's are importable to the USA. So if they are in good shape they are worth decent money. Probably 20k or so.

In Canada we have different laws that allow 15 year old imports to come in. So we have lots of 74's etc. But those models cannot be imported easily to the USA.

It's confusing. That LJ70 is not a Canadian rig. So it will have some sort of odd registration. Which may be fine. Or not.

Do you mean the LJ73? My guess is it's from Europe .Its LHD and they like the economical 4cyl diesel LHD
