Is there any way to block the ads that load (like googlesyndication, googleads, etc.) - they really slow down the operation and navigation of MUD and then I sometimes get an error message that says this script failed and I have to choose to stop the script or continue:
Script: http://jbrlsr.com/scirev.php?aid=5336090984&bid=3160557:4

I have no idea what to do, I just stop the stupid piece of crap because it's all computer lingo to me.

the jbrlsr ad that has to load is a real pain every time I navigate to a new page. It locks up my computer momentarily almost every time so I can't scroll down a thread, or if I have music playing it stops it briefly.

I don't understand a lot about these ads, but I do know it makes it a pain for me to navigate the site. And when the stupid script keeps failing then i would be inclined (if it was my choice) to throw it out the window - piece of crap can't do its job then get it out of here.

Anyway just wondering if there was any way, if these ads are completely necessary, that they can load only once when someone navigates to MUD instead of loading every time I change to a different page. Or if they can be turned off for silver star members or something.

Silver star members only see two banner locations, and Google is the method these ads are served. I used to use another system, and it was nothing but problems....

I've yet to hear of anyone having issues with Google's ad system...I suspect it's a firewall/browser issue with your computer.

Ads are a necessary evil, required to pay bills...'MUD runs on about $20,000 in hardware, plus hosting fees, plus software, plus TIME to manage...

Thanks Woody, and I 100% appreciate that it costs money to run a website of this size. Thank you for all you do! I just wish there was a way that it wouldn't have to pause for about 2-3 seconds every time I navigate to a new page - it usually says jbrlsr.com at the bottom left of my browser as the item that's loading when it does this.

And then I don't understand why the script fails and if there is anything I can do to keep it from happening. It seems random.

a quick Google search shows about 50 different possibilities...not sure what that would be the result from...
