Anyone else having a problems adjusting their rear shocks? I tried using a strap wrench (to keep it from spinning) and it just broke under the load.

Fronts were stiff/tight to turn, but not unreasonably.

Any ideas? I don't want to use channel locks because I'm afraid of damaging the shock body.

There is definitely significant resistance, but I've used a strap wrench numerous times to brace against use of the included wrench. It's a two-wrench operation AFAIC.

It is somewhat difficult to adjust. The rear more so than the fronts. I just hold with one hand and use the tool with the other to adjust. Can't imagine doing it on a trail. Slee recommended getting to a flex spot on a trail to give better access for each shock.

How long does it take to adjust all 4 wheels? 30 mins?

Less. It's just a little hard to get to as the angles are awkward.

I am currently in the process of installing my BP-51's. I was wondering what those of you who have had them for a while would recommend for settings for the best ride quality on moderately bumpy paved roads? I was planning on just adjusting both comp and rebound to the middle to start. But it would be interesting to hear your thoughts and comments. i know we all have our personal preferences for ride type, I'm just looking for a good place to begin.

My fronts are C2 R8, 0mm preload. I'm still playing with the rears, 2722 springs.

No bumper, but drawers and RTT.

I probably should have added some details about my setup as well. Running 5mm preload and 2721 rears per Slee's recommendation. Only mods besides the BP 51's are SPC UCA's,TRD Rock warriors with 285/70r17 Toyo AT II's and spidertrax 1.25 spacers.

You and I are identical in both setup, components and preload...except I'm running KO2s.

Markuson, I'm am currently running the ko2's on both my tundra and Jeep Wrangler. Love them but wanted to try the toyo OC AT II's. Haven't had a chance to run the toyo's off road yet but on the road, I think they ride a little softer, with a little more road noise thAn the KO2's. What do you generally run for road settings on your BP51's?

I think my shock guard is hitting my adjusting ring and making it impossible to turn. I'm assuming nobody else has had this problem. The shock guard rides very tight against the shock body. I would've thought that the shock would've had space between the two. I am wondering if it was misinstalled. When I have time this weekend, I'll pull the wheel and take some pictures.

I'd be surprised if the flexible plastic guard is the problem. Frankly, the adjustment turn is really **quite stiff,** and takes a good deal of force to turn. It's NOT an easy flick to get it moving. I wish is was easier, but perhaps it would be prone to slippage...

There are two drilled holes at the top of the shock body.

An OME engineer told me about a year ago they were to be used with a 5mm Allen key, to keep the shock body from rotating when adjusting comp/rebound rings.

I’ve been doing it every sense, and it works beautifully.
