Does anyone know a link for information on how to add power steering to my fire truck with a 1hz motor?

You really need the manual and you need the parts. Or get a wrecker in Japan or Australia to compile the list of parts you need.

Most of all you will need this. One of the 3 holes, the one with flnage and bolts sticking out I think, is for the power steering pump, yours will only have 2.
Terrain Tamer sell them for $389AUD
I sold one to a guy in Belize but he never did a write up from memory.
I believe they are interchangeable with a 1HD T engine

You also need the power steering box. Dont buy a LHD one. You can use any PS box from 84 to 99 and probably till 07.
It can be from a BJ/FJ/HZJ/PZJ/FZJ/HDJ

Im looking for a part number, this is off the later models . Not cheap, usually good used ones go for $500+ in Australia.
The 84-99 PS boxes are out of production, but they can be rebuilt to a high grade if you have the outer casing.
44110GEAR ASSY, POWER STEERING
44110-60391TYPE B:REFER TO ILLUSTRATION (02/2005 - 08/2006)1$3,345.07
44110-60392TYPE B:REFER TO ILLUSTRATION (10/2006 - 12/2006)

This number is from 2000 44110-60390 and appears to be in production.

Wow, thanks so much for all the detailed information. Did not know it would be quite so expensive I will definitely be waiting for all this craziness be over before I pursue it further but thank you so much for the info

It will be a couple of thousand by the time you accumulate the parts. The pump is not too expensive.

I drove a non PS equipped HJ75 once, I seem to remember it had an oversized steering wheel. Does yours have one?

Try 44110-60390

I recall that @Onur used 44110-60390 instead of 44110-60392 and it is a much cheaper option. :)

Yeah pretty sure it’s bigger than normal

For sure I have this on a parts engine and I might have a rhd used steering box available also if I can find it.

For what it's worth, when I added power steering to my 70 I purchased a used box from Joe and was very happy with the price and condition of the part. I know he has a great reputation already, but I understand good used steering boxes are very hard to get.

I am currently working on a 45 series with 1HZ not setup for power steering and was thinking about using this: Electric PS
Maybe it could be modified to fit a 70series as well. Another option.
