I am second-generation original owner of 1969 (8/68) FJ40 with all original equipment. The cable connecting the accelerator to the carburetor broke today just above the "barrel" that the cable passes through at the carburetor end of the cable. Luckily this happened in my garage, so I was able to recover the barrel and set screw. Since this is the original Accelerator cable, I do not know how the assembly is supposed to look and if I have all the parts. I am attaching a photograph that shows what I have and how I temporarily assembled the cable so that I could go out for a short run today. There is a small machined block that has coarse threads inside it with a screw, spring and cotter pin that holds the block in place on the fuel throttle linkage. I could not find a decent diagram showing the various parts that connect the Accelerator cable to the carburetor throttle.
I would appreciate any photos or descriptions of the parts that should be in place. I feel I am missing whatever screws into the small machined block. Thanks in advance for your help!
