Acceleration vibration, CV? HELP!

I had the exact same problem a couple months ago when I did my CV (Napa brand axles for what its' worth) and axle seals. Vibration at highway speed, goes away around 70 mph. I swapped my old CV axles back in and the problem went away. I ordered new OEM axles and seals shortly after but have yet to install them.

If I were you I would do like others have already said and swap your old axles back in when you can. 99.9% sure it'll fix it.

I had similar problems awhile back. It ended up being a combo of bad NAPA cvs and my drive flange was absolutely shot. So I bit the bullet, and got CVJ axles with high angle boots, and new drive flange. SO MUCH BETTER!
did you have similar symptoms where vibrations to the body around highway speeds ? seems i have a similar issue but i'm not getting vibration on the steering wheel. i'm going to check my ujoints on the driveshaft with a pry bar and see if there's any play

No it was more a vibration feel in the steering wheel.

I would say if you have vibration to the body maybe check wheel bearings ? That can definitely make the truck shake pretty good if they’re worn enough. Especially when braking at highway speeds even lightly. For me it is just vibration in steering wheel and some more aggressive vibration from the hub when going 80+ which is rare for these lol.

Replaced the NAPA unit today. Vibration gone! Rebooted my old one and after 4 hours of labor I’m done! Def going to avoid anything aftermarket moving forward. These trucks do NOT like it.

my CV boots leaked a bunch grease everywhere. no tears, just loose boot towards the wheel wheel side on both passenger / driver. im going to replace them. have ordered a new set of OEM.

my vibrations are similar to yours, typically around 50-70mph range. non existent when driving in the city

congrats on your fix!

really light vibration that kinda plateaus around 70mph. No shaking in steering wheel just a light vibration felt through the floor and seat.
It's probably the aftermarket CV, but tonight I pulled the slip yokes on the propeller shafts out and cleaned the old grease out of them. The rear had some seriously caked on old grease (3 kinds) in the bottom of it that I could definitely see causing a problem. Mine is a low roaring vibration that starts around 50. It still happened with an entirely new OEM front end and shocks, CVs...everything was done.

Hoping it eliminates the vibration, but it's worth a shot either way.

Glad you resolved it. If you have a high mileage cruiser, Id replace your drive flanges too, Super simple job and they will get you max life out of your CVs splines. Also will reduce that clunk (if you have it) from when you start from a stop.

with drive flanges, is it fine to get this from a NAPA type store? or are there recommendations for OEM?
