Posting from here in Alaska, and not sure I trust many local Alaska shops, to have a lot of AC experience!!!
This question is just oriented around the basic physics of AC systems.
I’m installing a Toyota center refer console. Working to thread the hard AC lines from the RHD donor, up the tunnel for my North American LHD rig.
When I look at the OEM factory installed AC lines, specifically the line from the compressor to the firewall, I see an AC line with a mix of hard lines and soft hose.
Why aren’t soft lines used more in AC systems ? Rather that trying to thread hard lines up the tunnel, can I just put hard connections on each end of a soft custom line, and tack a hose to the tunnel?
