So I just had a new compressor installed for my AC on my 1993 HDJ-81 with the console cooler box. My mechanic originally put 3lbs in but while running it was making a strange noise and every 15 seconds or so I would feel a kick in the gas pedal while driving. Was told it was overcharged so we took some out down to around 1.6 pounds. The sound and feeling in the gas pedal is gone. Seems to run normal now. Anyone have any insight on the correct amount of Freon for the the HDJ-81 with the cooler box console?
