i've replaced the dryer, condenser and expansion valve on my '96. the bearings in the clutch went out on the compressor then developed a leak in the condeser. i let the bearings go to long and the clutch essentially ruined the nose of the compressor (i know, i should've replaced it sooner, and i've learned the hard way...), so i have a new compressor from dan (thanks) but there's a part down in the nose in the old one (between the splined shaft and the inside of the nose) but it's not in the new one. it looks like its just a fiber ring (maybe to catch dirt, etc from getting down past the shaft) with a soft metal retainer. do i need to put this fiber ring and retainer in the new one?

also,
does anyone know if the new compressor comes with oil? if so, how much? 4.1 oz?

i've searched but nothing came up right away and i'm a little pushed for time.
thanks,
blumer
