Hi Guys.
Thankfully I’ve never needed to swap out any of my ABS Sensors on my 1998 4.2 VX RHD LC100 Amazon, until now. I have looked but I can’t find a detailed thread on doing this job. I need to replace my LHS Passenger side Front ABS Sensors
I was also changing my front wheel bearing at same time so I have the Rotor or brake disc and wheel hub removed.
I had great trouble getting the old ABS Sensors out of the Hub Flange. So in the end it came out in pieces. I suppose it has been in there for almost 29 years.

Can anyone tell me what I should be seeing here. Is there a plastic slieve through the hub flange or should it be clean bare metal, I want to be certain before I try to insert the new sensor.

Currently I am seeing like a plastic slieve in the hole for the sensor.
Is that plastic a part of the old sensor which became totally disseminated or is there supposed to be a plastic slieve through which the new sensor pushes into.

Any advice will be truly appreciated and if anyone knows any links on the forum can you please signpost me there. Thank you.

The hole is raw steel with no liner and will most likely be rusty. Knock out whatever plastic from the old sensor that is remaining then clean up the inside of the hole with a dremel with the small sanding drum mounted. Clean out all the rust and then paint it to retard future rusting. Coat the hole and sensor with waterproof grease prior to installing the sensor. Also apply anti sieze to the retaining screw.

Thank you Badlander. Very much appreciated, I was concerned I had damaged a small liner in the hole. Relieved.
