Sorry, I am not really sure what you are asking? Maybe someone else with more experience can chime in or ask your question a different way.

Are you asking your tranny is marked 3F, when you have a 1993 IFZ vehicle? If that's the question, if you have a 1993 model year, you might have an early 1FZ production truck and Toyota might have had more 3F marked transmissions still lying around in supply so it ended up in your truck.

Toyota was still producing 3FE 80s well into the summer of 1992, so I would imagine a few 3F marked trannys made it into early 1FZ trucks.

There is a very slight difference between 3FE trannys and early 1FZ trannies. The change over took place in August of 1992, which is probably when the engine change took place, but like I said, I wouldn't be super surprised if Toyota had a few 3F designated transmissions lying around and decided to use them up in very early 1FZ production.

But that's just a guess...assuming a) that's what the tag on the tranny actually means and b) that was your question.

Edit...OK never mind, I see that your rig was made in June of 1993 from another post, so add me to the "I don't understand your question club"...LOL!

Those are tranny serial numbers. My guess is that they correspond to various trannys used in the 80 series. Probably need AISIN Tranny manual to decode what all the letters and numbers mean.

Assuming you have the original VIN sticker on the driver door and the tranny hasn't been changed out, the VIN sticker will give you the tranny type. such as A442F etc...

I want to know if I have the A442F tranny like what the vin # and cruiser sticker say!

This number usually told you what tranny the cruiser have and looking online I saw tranny that were marked clear what tranny are :hhmm:!

How we can get tha manual :D?!

I hope to, to have the original vin sticker and the original tranny, A442F!

I am looking to found how much I can about my cruiser and I all ready found another surprise on my cruiser Air clenear housing. The cruiser have the PAIR valve system that other cruiser don't have :).

Thanks!

This can be solved easily. :D

CowboyUp, is there a button labeled "ECT" on your dashboard?

Sorry for my ignorance here, but I noticed my tranny's are different in my 94' and 96'. can somebody educate me on the differences.

91-92 - A440F, totally hydraulic
93-94 - A442F, electronically controlled
95-97 - A343F, smaller than the A44xF, but much smoother shifting. Also electronically controlled.

I believe yes to my right, next with the window defroster button ! Why? What is that ECT and what is the benefit?!

You have the A442F, which is electronically controlled. The "ECT" button changes the shift points, allowing the transmission to stay in gear longer (this helps when you are towing a trailer). The older A440F does not have this button, since it is not electronically controlled.

94 tranny are bigger then 96 tranny and early 93 tranny are bigger the all tranny :hillbilly:!

The A440F and A442F are the same size. They make the A343F look like a Corolla transmission!

Visual experience! :D

A343F and A340F (Tundra tranny) compared to an A442F from 93-94.

Thanks! :) So then wouldn't the 440 be much stronger?

Like 440 vs 442?

Depends how you look at it. Some view the electronics as an advantage, while others view them as a downfall. Minor differences at the least. They'll both hold their own against the "stronger" American transmissions (pathetic excuses include: 4L80E, 700R4, and Torqueflite).

My 440 has been running on the same ATF since 60,000 miles... I have the records.

How about 442 vs. 343?

How about 442 vs. 343?

Couldn't tell ya.

IMO, I think the A44xF is stronger. It's about 2/3 the size of the Duramax's Allison, and the Allison is huge. Never seen any catastrophic failures of either tranny, and opinions vary across the board....heh, pun....
