This assumes the previous person got it perfect. This is why they have a dipstick for checking level.

Since it was established that you you been checking the Transmission Fluid incorrectly, I would start there an touch nothing else and not think about anything else. Do not rely on anything other than the Dipstick to determine that you have the proper amount. Have you done that?

Yes, did that. It takes 2 additional quarts and I'm in the hot zone on the stick with the it warmed up and the motor running. Hasn't changed the symptoms at all.
