i don't exactly own a LC200... but i atleast have a good few stories as why i wont even allow the dealer to change my oil let alone anything else...
this deals with my little box car (my 2006 scion xB, before i traded it in for my FJ)
1 - 3 free oil changes from the dealer, they never changed the filter... still had the factory seal lub...
2 - every time they did any work on any car, they give you a freindly car wash... no biggy. every time they did it... the rear spoiler came back with CHUNKS missing out of the plastic... they claimed they do hand washes... ya... bull s**t...
3 - here's the REAL deal maker... i started to have this LOUD squeek... like the older S10 and S15 blazers would get on their hatch window... this sound would even drive Gandhi insane... after countless times of gutting my interior out AND my rear suspension system trying to track down what it was that was causing the sound. i finally gave up and started bringing it to the dealer. each time i got it back the problem was never fixed... on the 4th time i got it back, something REALLY got me... here i was chatting to my old man on the phone sitting in the back of the car, i kinda fell back into the seat and heard a rather loud knock noise from what sounded like something rather structural... i get out, i flop the seats down and low and behold... all of the structural bolts holding the rear seats and stabilizer bar for it all were just set into theit holes, not even finger tightened, they were just threaded a little sitting there. so in my discuse i pulled the side panels out to check the seat belt housings and the reinforcement latches for the seats and all... NOTHING was tightened down... at this very same time, i figured out what was causing the noise my self. the plastic insulation on the reinforced latches for the best rests of the seats was worn down causing metal to metal rubbing when the chassis flexed...
had i left the dealer that day with people in the rear and needed to suddonly stop for any reason at all. anyone back there could have been killed.

...ever...
i suffer from a massive back injury of which resulted in several damaged discs and i STILL do my own mechanical work. if i can't do it, i have freinds help me or i coach them through it while i watch. until i see people start getting tattoos or something showing their completion of said manufacturer's technician program, i will not let anyone touch my vehicles anymore unless i have personally seen thier capability.
