Becouse my Car is so underpowered, it stalled going up a hill. I went to restart it and it did the click thing, but in this instance it was very fast clicking.

Last night it was determined that the Stater Motor had shorted itself. - This afteroon I removed and tested it, and I too belive it is shorted.
On the 1.1km drive to the Motel the headlights were very dim and even the clock dimmed when the Indicators were on. Also, the Exhaust Gas Temperature Gauge repeatedly went though the powerup test, as it displays ---.
When we got back to the Motel early this morning I disconnected the Battery. Bed time. This morning before we Tow started it, I disconnected all the Wires to the Starter Motor and Taped up the Ends.
A couple of minutes after the Car got started and as we were disconnecting the Snatch Strap, the UHF Radio displayed OVERVOL, then a few seconds later smoke and the stench of melted plastic. I checked the Wires behind it and they were not worm or melted. So at this point I removed the 7.5A Fuse for the Recharge circuit, and then drove the one and a half hours home.

I have since tested all the Wires that connect to the Starter Motor and the Alternator, and they all appear to be fine.

Just two days worth on it. New TOYOTA Hi-Ace, Hi-Lux 2L,3L,5L Diesel Starter Motor - eBay, Toyota, Car Parts, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 26-Dec-07 22:53:34 AEDST)

How do I disconnect the Fusible Links from the Fuseblock? :meh:

I forgot to add that prior to removing the Alternator Fuse, the RPM Gauge was erratic. It was displaying slower that it actually is at Idle, but with some Throttle it was showing faster that it should. :hhmm:

Sounds tome what happened to me, an alternator problem.
