A Quick wheel question

I have a 1981 reg cab 4x4 I am trying to find wheels for. From looking at other builds it seems a 2.5" backspacing seems to be the choice of many people. Is this one of the best BS options?

I found a set of 1999 Tacoma wheels I was considering but I don't know the BS on these wheels. Does anyone know the BS on the Tacoma wheels?

I don't know what your factory backspacing was, but 2.5" seems like alot of dish in the wheels to me - as you move the tire away from the hub it places more and more load on your wheel bearings and ball joints. The factory backspacing on my '88 4runner was right at 4.5" & I'm pretty sure the Taco is the same.

IIRC- The taco wheels will rub on either the steering arms or the calipers.

the tacoma wheels will rub on your tie rod ends. unless the are 16" wheels but you still might rub when turning so you might have to get the 1 1/2 " spacers to use them.

The 16" 80's series rims rub without a wheel spacer... You only need ~.5" or less of spacer to be safe with them.
