I just got my 97 TLC 40th anniversary. I feel I got the base model. There's no CDL switch or button & there's no front or rear locks... Any help? Any info?

What color is that? I like it.
Also, there's no button or switch for the CDL. It's a shifter. The little one next to the big one. :hillbilly:

I've seen them with a CDL button. Just wondering. Also wondering if it's worth investing in front & rear lockers. Don't know if I'll ever have use for it, but my theory has always been. Better have it and not need it, than need it and not have it...

Read the FAQ (sticky). Most/all your questions will be answered there. Learn to use search, your questions in this thread have been asked many times and answered many times.

Huh, I've never seen a CDL button. Now I'm curious. I've seen a switch for the diff lockers but never seen a CDL button.

Looks like Moonglow Pearl. Reminds me of the one int he driveway.

I guess you need to **READ** the FAQ and use search too :)

No roof rack or spoiler in an awesome color is a nice find.

A debate abounds regarding lockers. ARBs are a viable option, should the "need" arise.

My unsolicited advice is to wheel it and base the "need" accordingly. They're very capable without, and there's a lot more to consider (tires, gearing to coincide, lift for tires, and on and on) before the decision needs to be made.

Say goodbye to expendable cash.

Lockers were an option, even on 40th anniversary models. The CDL button is a non-US feature that you can retrofit. The lack of a roof rack an spoiler are a major bonus. Baseline the fluids and axles and enjoy. Be prepared to spend some time with the FAQ, but it's and invaluable resource.

Chances are if you dont know if you need lockers. then you dont. I recently wheeled with a guy that had an unlocked 80 with a mild lift and that thing went everywhere the locked rigs did. That is one clean looking rig you picked up. Nice find.

You can buy the switch so you can lock the CDL without having to put it in low. The wiring is already in place behind your a/c. Takes 2 minutes. Search "CDL switch". It should bring up some threads from the classifieds.

I have lockers on mine and never use them. I do engage them about once a month just to keep them working. It's also my dd so I don't wheel it though. Just logging trails and a little mud here and there. I do like the option to turn off the ABS though and the CDL switch gives you that.
