Hey folks, thanks for helping me out the other day.

Right now it is really hot here where I live and to deal with it, I'm going to install an AC unit in my daily driver 4Runner. I have a budget of course.

Besides getting all the lines, condenser, compressor and actuator is there anything else I would need to make this work? Is there a website that sells a complete drop in unit? I know this will take some time, but I'm willing to put in the work to make it happen.

Thanks again....

an evaporator.
you will have to wire up a switch too.
im sure you already thot of this, but forgot to post it.
search 4crawler.com i think he did a a/c install.
obviously you want to use R134A. its cheaper and more effective.

The statement that R134 is "cheaper and more effective" is very debatable. Cheaper and more effective than what? IF you end with an old R12 based system, I'd go with something other than R134, like redtec or duracool. You can do your own research, but R134 requires much higher pressures to work, which is fine on a system designed for it, but NOT fine on an R12 based system. You will end up with a lot more problems trying to runR134 on an R12 based system, and less cooling than it was designed for (about 70% of the total cooling ability, based on my own on line research). Will it work? Yes. Could it be better? Yes, in my opinion, using Redtec, duracool or something along those lines.
