Quick question. 2010 LX my blend door is not secured to the actuator tip. I see the tip moves when I change from recirc to fresh air. The tip is loose and not in the hole in the blend door. I read all about having to put in record mode before changing the filter. My main question is the hole in the blend door a complete circle or does it have a little gap at the bottom? Mine doesn't look like the other photos of cracked and broken pieces in that circular area so I am hoping that gap is supposed to be there and I just need to re seat the door onto the actuator tip. Any idea?

On my truck, the armature popped out of the groove on the recirc door. It's been a while, but IIRC the armature has a little pin that sits in a groove on the door. The groove is linear, I think, not circular.

I removed the little flat trim panel under the passenger side of the dash and lay on my back in the footwell. Looking up with a headlamp/flashlight, I was able to pop the little pin back in with a long screwdriver. It took about 3 tries. Having someone else press the recirc button would be useful, since I could only get it to re-seat when the actuator was moving. If you're nimble, you can press the button and dive back under the dash in time to catch it when it moves.

Ok. Does the armature click into place in the blend door. Not sure why my armature is floating free. I hope that by the armatur not being in the door hole means my door hole is ok. I will check soon

On mine, I had to put some pressure on the arm to get it to flex enough to pop into the groove. I wouldn't say it "clicked" in, but it was obvious once it had been re-seated correctly. Somebody must have really yanked on that door to get it to pop out.

All better. I wound up dislocating the arm from the actuator so I followed the directions in a previous thread and pulled the glove box. Was able to get everything back together and working fine. I put a warning notice on the cabin filter door. I service it myself but with the upcoming recall I am sure they will try to check things to sell me something. I will make sure I note on the repair order to not check the filter. Thanks everybody this forum is awesome
