Im having a loud popping noise that sounds like its coming from my front suspension. Seems to be on both sides when im hitting an incline/decline at a certain angle. Ive replacing my sway bar links and bushing and lower control arm ball joints. In my opinion the uppers need to be replaced too but I've taken it to two different mechanics and both said they didn't see anything wrong with the upper ball joints although it seemed obvious to me. Any leads on what might be causing that loud popping noise is appreciated.

Welcome to the MUD!

More info is needed.. Lifted? Larger tires? Does this happen at near lock steering? Is anything rubbing anywhere? Is this ‘popping’ speed related?

A solid search on this forum will yield a lot of answers. My guess would be CVs in the driveshafts. Popping indicates something in the driveline, not bushings.

Also, stop taking it to ‘mechanics’…. Most standard ‘mechanics’ don’t know s*** about these machines, and will kill your wallet trying to diagnose, and then chase a repair solution.

My dad taught me, you can mess up something on a car, at least four times what a ‘trained’ mechanic will charge you to mess it up just once.. and still not fix it.

I don’t mean to sound harsh, but these aren’t that difficult to wrench on, and sort out…. and you’ll save a ton of money.

On my sequoia, the weird suspension "popping" ended up being snapped shock lower "eyelets" on each side. Pretty wild as they were not even connected to the shock anymore.

Otherwise, for mystery noises, I just wait until it breaks. Then you'll definitely know what the issue is.
