I apologize for bringing this back from the dead but I recently acquired a 99 LX470 and am attempting to remove these components. Did yours have these small magnetic black square mounts on the front and back? I will post pictures tomorrow. I noticed one of these mounts near the spoiler and it seems to be wired into the roof and going to the center console I'm assuming. The Lexus dealership told me they would not remove them as it could lead to other electrical issues. I'm considering chopping the line but am now worried about losing connection to the speaker after reading this.I need help. My 2000 LX has the remnants of a factory cell phone system. I just removed some of the components while installing a new stereo system and now I've lost the connection to the left rear speaker. After reviewing the FSM Electrical Wiring Diagram, I found the same speaker is used for the cell phone. I believe there is a relay that would cut the stereo sound to just that speaker whenever the cell phone was in use. I still have the parts that I removed, so I'm going to reinstall and test my theory. The parts I removed are installed behind the right rear back lower panel next the the rear climate control unit. Anyone have ideas or experience with this system. Ultimately, I would just like to bypass the system and not keep the extra junk installed. As always, thanks for the help. FYI: I've attached the FSM wiring for the cellular and stereo. I'm not great a reading these things.
