Super bouncy ride is a good indicator that one or more globes in your suspension are shot. Do some searching for ahc and you will find a lot of information.
As for repairing/refurbishing the AHC or pulling it out and going with traditional shocks and springs, it really depends on a few things. Most importantly, how are you going to use your LX? Heavily armored and 35s OME heavy suspension and lift is probably for you. Adverse to a hydraulic system that can break, again traditional. Want to enjoy the benefits of smooth ride and on demand lift, along with some other perks like riding low in parking garages, easier access for old and young passengers, etc, the AHC is a nice system. As these systems age, some parts wear out, like the globes. They aren't cheap compared to traditional shocks, but they perform better and do more things. The cost to switch to traditional, in particular if you're not doing the work, will rival refurbishing your AHC. Just got to decide what you want.
