'96 possible tranny issue(s) Help! (1 Viewer)

OK, here we go. '96 TLC basic model (rare?), no factory bling or added farkles, basically stock, rear air lift, trailer hitch. I do considerable boat towing of about almost 4000 pounds a couple times a year. Never an issue, as there was no issue with my old FJ62 for same type towing......However............

Experiencing rough shift into OD when cold.
Some kind of rough shift in snow at highway speeds recently when going from throttle on to off to on.

Pulling boat at end of last season had initial shakining of rig seeming like it was tranny related.

Tranny flushed two years ago. Rig has 156K on it. I bought it from a no-off- road or towing preppy at 46K.

Solinoids? Big trouble? Dealer?

I would start with checking the Tranny fluid. You will want to check the level of the fluid, the color of the fluid and the smell of the fluid.
