I had a Blown w/shield wiper motor [Toyota Sucks! The original motor only lasted 31 yrs., WTF!]
Almost as bad as my starter & alternator, which both calved within a year of each other, after ONLY a quarter century & 300k miles!
But, back to the w/shield wiper motor; took it apart, after I got another & decided that maybe it was not really the problem; turns out, it was full of water, rusted all to heck, plus the magnets had come loose. Oh well, it doesn't owe me anything.
Sourced [what a PITA!], bought & installed a new motor.
When the motor is disconnected from the linkage, the new motor operates fine in the Intermittent, low & high speeds & stops when the switch is turned to the off position.
All good so far.
When connected to the linkage, however, it stops / freezes at the top of the 1st cycle & will not continue.
I have removed & replaced the splined L-bracket connection to the bushing 6 times [I was reticent to try to detach the ball-joint from the plastic bushing, given its age], to see if that was the problem [I clocked it as best as I could at a parallel position to the motor, but, other than 1 time, when it kept working, it does not. At that point, after it kept working, I thought I was done, so turned the wipers off, then, as a test, I turned them on again, but the same thing happened.

Once I disconnect the motor from the linkage, move the wipers back to the park position & re-install the lock-nut onto the L-bracket, it will work again, only until the wipers are at the top of their cycle, then quit & freeze.
I'm stuck!
Any suggestions?
