Need a little help here. I have done a search and read but can't find what I am looking for.
My 96 4 runner has always had good but touchy/sensitive brakes since it was new. I have done a brake job just a couple thousand miles ago and everything is good as far as pads and rotors go.
However, the other day I braked really hard to avoid a deer and the anti-locks kicked in. Ever since then I have noticed that the pedal will fade as if the brake is releasing after I have slowed down and almost to a stop. This doesn't happen every time but it has happened several times now.
The brakes seem to work fine otherwise. Does anyone recognize this as a known problem.
I am getting ready to give the 4 runner to my son for his 16th birthday in two weeks and don't want this to be a problem.
Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.
