95 4runner, high beam?????

ok guys the wife's 95, she has a name for it "White Shadow" the high beams seem to work when they want to.

i am guessing it is the relay, but not sure.

have any of you had this problem?

i have seen this a few times.
the first thing i look at is corrosion in the plug. when cleaning it does not fix it i replace the multifunction switch. (thats the light switch combo turn signal sw.)

it uses copper contacts that are basically the same function as a relay, only there is no polarized coil involved, cuz yer left hand does that job of switching it

thank wristy! that is just what i did not want it to be, but Murphy said that is what it would be, because i do not have one of those here.

I had an 87 4runner that did the same thing. I would flick the high beams on and all the lights would go off. I would just smack the dash and they would come on. Never got around to diagnosing it though before it got totaled.
