I love my truck. She is a 94 California built Ext. Cab w/22RE 5spd. It has 299,923 miles. Picked it up for 600 bucks, the guy told me it probably won't last very long.........that was 15 months 8 Wellsville trips and 7k brutal miles ago. It currently has front Ball Joint spacers, rear add a leaf, and an Aussie Locker in the rear. It wheels pretty good but alas it is time for an upgrade.

From an 85 pickup in Medina Ohio from a nice guy with a bunch of toyota toys. Spins good, birfields look good, everything looks good.

It didn't look like that for long.

Sandblasting was a pain but I think it will be worth the time.

Freakin awesome, welcome aboard :flipoff2:

looks good

:wrench:Muddy Rock 4x4 just did one on mine, a 94 pickup came out great. I got everything from trailgear its a really good kit but the grease fittings are junk and the extended brake lines didnt mach up AND I went with the 3'' springs it came with 6'' shackles...... it put my truck up about 7'' taller then stock  so we took out the added leaf got it down about 2'' put 5'' of block in the rear and now its level. I plan to put the added leaf back and do the rear end the right way but I need more dollars so this will do for now.
Good luck with the build.

It's been awhile but I am back in the swing of things. I picked up some steel for my spring hanger and rear shock mounts. Glenshaw Steel Supply off RT8 great guy he gave me a ton of 1/4, 3,16 plate for nothing.

Picked up a set of 87 rears for $20 thanks Brian. The Ranchos were not that cheap
313.jpg

But before any of that I need to install this baby...
311.jpg

I'm going to need those...Crawlin on a budget son...
319.jpg

Disassembled
321.jpg

Detroit locker 250$ by far my best deal.
320.jpg

Ready for assembly.
322.jpg

Locked and loaded.....
326.jpg

Everything was going great....so I knew something would go wrong. My pinion felt awfully rough when I was turning it right before I put it all together. I took the flange off and the seal was loaded with dirt and mud.
324.jpg

So this happened....
325.jpg

The bearings had some grime in them so I cleaned them up. Reinstalled the pinion without a crush sleeve to check for the pinion depth.

Need to get a crush sleeve tomorrow.

Time for sandblasting
25749_533971170978_64702786_31469370_1562951_n.jpg

Nice and painted.

I have one more spring to add so I will have a Normal 86 rear pack with a BDS spring as well so a total of four springs. I may need more but I want as little lift as possible.

Time for my spring hanger. I started with a piece of 2x2 3/16 square stock. I am using 1/4 plate for the hangers.
25749_533971180958_64702786_31469372_6999315_n.jpg

Endplates tacked on. I put a second hole an inch behind and a hair lower just in case there are complications with the drag link and tie rod hitting I can adjust it.

95ToyCruiser (aka Shane) came and gave me a hand. This definitely helped speed up the process.

The hanger with the springs in it. They unfortunately warped a fair amount and it is a struggle to get those things in there.

Thats all I have done so far. Still need to assemble spring pack, clean up the hanger, and wait for UPS to bring me some goodies.

Hope you enjoyed reading.

Haha, I don't think that I was really any help at all, but glad you think so.

I've been super busy with work (just got home) sorry I haven't been as much of a help as I would like. But we'll get it done man.

By the way I'm gonna have to bust out that hat again soon, can't believe that was a year ago already, another Wellsville trip?

Lookin good!! your welding looks REALLY good.....damn i need better equipment..

At least someone else is going thru a winter long struggle to get their ride ready........damn this thing!

Thanks. Yours is coming along nicely, now you need some comfy buckets to ride in. You going to Beaverun Sunday?

I have finally finished my Spring hanger. The feeling of self pride sure wasn't enough to merit the time and effort it took me to make that thing instead of buying one. If I were to do it again I would buy the Sky Hanger kit and save some time. But I think it turned out to be pretty nice.

I was losing steam and desire to finish anything else so I cleaned up my axle.

Should be receiving my parts Thursday or Friday. Rebuild axle then let the cutting begin.
