93 Cold start low idle?

My dads 93 p/u used to idle somewhat higher on a cold start in the mornings around 1500-1600 I think. But for a while now it has been idling around 1000 on a cold morning which seems just too low. After the truck warms up it will drop into normal range though. Is it hurting anything ildling this low? What could be the problem?

I'd check around for vacuum leaks. I don't think a low idle hurts anything (oil pressure shouldn't be hurting at 1000). It doesn't quite sound like the cold start injector. I broke the gas line going to my cold start injector so I've bypassed it temporarily. It needs a couple of extra turns first thing in the morning but my cold idle is still 1500. Vacuum leaks are annoying since there are so many places to check but they have been the culprits of many idle issues I've had.
