I took my rear sliding windows out when I got the truck painted. I wasn't ready for what the rear window frames looked like! the aluminum frame is really corroded & disintegrating. Trying to replace them is bloody difficult so now I'm reaching out to the community to see if anyone has done any rebuilding or lasting repairs. My other option could be to replace the sliders with the full cargo window from the LX470 series.
I'm sure this problem has haunted many others as well so I'm hoping for some interesting replies.

I am pretty sure you can still get new frames for the sliding windows. I just looked a few months ago. I was able to get a good frame from a part out but was going to get new ones if I did not find a used one.

Edit: partsouq has them for my 1994 for $115 and $141 62705-60010 (RH) and 62706-60010 (LH)

I think refitting the 100 series (minivan) windows in an 80 would be a neat trick. Just buy new frames...and rubber gaskets.
