Yes it is the good one with updated head the 2L turbo works I have one sourced for 1000

Question,,,I would think this is a little underpowered for a 40? yes, no maybe? I really don't know, but as someone that is contemplating a diesel swap (1HZ maybe) I would love to learn more.
Would work really nicely for a FST or one that never gets a roof put on it.
Or would probably work well in a pickup as well.

Plenty of torque you just need to gear it right. The four-door Prado that it is in Waze 4500 pounds and cruises down the road at 75 mph no problem only time it’s Lacking is steep grades
My 3L stock did about 20/25mpg and cruised at about 60-65mph.
You could really push it to 75 but that would always end at the slightest incline or headwind.
It is a great motor but I wouldn’t have delusions of it crusing at 75mph while being naturally aspirated or getting anywhere close to 35 mpg.
