91-92 speed sensor testing

Alright guys I've been doing a little research on how to check whether mechanical speed sensors are faulty or not, but I havnt been able to find any specificaly on the 91-92 it's. And since the sensors themselves are so hard to find, was wondering if anyone knows anything about this.
Just want to make sure my sensor is bad before I pay 120$ for another one.

The manual does not say much about this.

Here it is what it does say.

There should be four terminals to the right of the speedometer cable connector, which form an "L" pattern. Check for electrical continuity between the two middle terminals while turning the speedometer shaft. If there is no continuity, replace the speedometer.

Chances are that, after all these years, the sensor gave up the ghost and needs replacement.
