hello everyone! I've had a working tcase adapter to an 8L90 and l83 5.3 in my 1988 fj62 since 2021 now. and I can confidently say this thing has held up phenomenally the last 5 years. I am working with a couple of manufactures to get my design and product to be repeatable, cost effective, and most importantly, a high quality part. I am a month or 2 away from finalizing everything and getting them into production. I also have a 10 speed in my 1990 fj62 as well, with an lt1 6.2. I am currently waiting for my 1986 Land Cruiser to be finished with paint so we can throw in an lt4/8L90 combo in it.

please bare with me as I am a long time lurker of this forum but first time poster. if I posted this in the wrong group, or sub chat please correct me as im happy to change whatever I need to.

I have references I can provide, along with uploading a bunch of photos tomorrow when I get some time (I gotta go back 5 years ago in my photos and find photos) we also did one just recently for a customer, an lt1 with a 10L90 that has over 1000 miles on it, that im sure he can vouch for our work.

Anyway, if this post gets enough attention or if the newer gm transmissions are desirable, im happy to share more information!

I forgot we did a video on the customer Land Cruiser just recently. feel free to give it a watch!

Definitely interested, I absolutely hate the crap Advanced adapters has for our 4 and 6 speed conversions. Lack of a good adapter alternative pushed me to use them though

I have nothing against AA. I think they generally make great adapters. While I think there is room for improvement for their products (things that we have considered into our design) I can’t knock them because they’re making modular components so they can reuse the same parts on other kits. My kit will support both 2wd, and 4wd 8L90, and 10L80’s. So you won’t be limited to finding a specific transmission. We will also release our motor mount adapters that utilize the factory hydraulic filled motor mounts which are AMAZING in terms of vibration dampening. You wont even know the motor is running when you’re sitting, absolutely no vibrations. Considerably less than the stock 2f/3fe.

Here’s a couple of photos! I had to cover the actual adapter plate for intellectual property reasons. I know it’s really silly, and I doubt anyone will copy it faster than I can release it publicly, but I was advised to cover it for now. Also you can see Mitch from swaptimeusa over at our house helping with the tuning back in 2021. I met Mitch early 2021, and we became close friends throughout the years. Really knowledgeable guy for Lt swaps. I can’t say enough good things about him. Without him, i would have stuck with a boring Ls and a 4 speed but his excitement towards the Lt and 8/10 speeds is really what pushed me to make something that hasn’t been done before.

Here’s a couple of more photos I found on my phone. We had done a frame off restoration and powder coated the chassis, and rebuilt every single component with new parts. Really fun build!

I have a video of me driving the silver/black Land Cruiser with the L83/8L90 back in 2021 but I guess I can’t post videos on the forum. If anyone is interested in seeing it, I can send it through direct message

We are currently revising it to have the motor sit 3 inches more forward. The original design you had to bang out a section of the firewall a bit to clear the passenger head. But we are changing that so it’s a simple drop in. No firewall modifications! We should have the end product in 2-3 months the absolute latest. Working with the couple of engineers right now, we keep redesigning things to improve functionality. Like we had the crazy thought of making 1 kit for both 2wd and 4wd so we can lower the cost by only making one kit. Lower manufacturing cost, but more r&d cost. But I’m okay with that if that means I can put it in the hands of more people.
