First post ever on the forum, I tend to mostly just read up on the collective wisdom. However, I have run into a tough nut, I was hoping someone has an answer. I have an old KDJ120, European spec that I'm very much in love with. However, I have an intermittent fault that currently stops me from using it. Every now and then the A/T Oil lamp ignites, which leads to that the engine cuts out. At restart it runs one second, then it cuts out again.
There is no error code generated, at least not one that my Car Scanner app can pick up, but it can read the temp. There seems to be 2 sensors, one gives permanently -40° C, the other one fluctuates, I've seen 11°, round 45° and up to 70°. To me, -40° is the "default" sensor value, the sensor is either dead or not installed in my car.
The error persists, and there is no error code to clear. The workaround that I found is to disconnect the battery 30 seconds, this turns the light off and the car can be started again, and will run fine - until next time.
As the sensors are on the inside it's a bit more of a project than with the old 4-speed box, the pan will have to be dropped. My main issue is that one of the sensors doesn't seem available anymore. I have ordered the 89429-34010, which can be found at various vendors or eBay. However, the other sensor, 89429-35010, is discontinued, and I cannot seem to find it anywhere.
Is there a replacement reference for the second sensor? Reasonably they should break as frequently as the other, still available sensor, no?
