Removed the tailgate window from my 89 4Runner today, the track at the bottom of the window had rusted away. Typical, eh? I have new parts here but am having a difficult time getting the new lower track assemblies with new rubber inserts) onto the window. Is there a trick for installing these things? I tried some dishwashing soap to aid the process but that made them too slippery. I can't seem to find the right knack to get the new track/rubber assemblies seated onto the window. Anyone help here? Thanks, Shmukster

WD40 maybe? :hhmm:

Put the rubber onto the glass, silicone spray will help with the next step. then set the lower track onto the glass in the position you think it will sit, then using a rubber mallet start on one end and work your way across the glass, the backglass is tempered so it will take some hard blows. Good Luck!
