I am working on a 89 22re pu. The truck has been sitting for a couple years. tank was rusty. Replaced fuel pump (used) and cleaned tank as best as possible, ran fine for awhile. Friend brought it in and it would only run for a few seconds and then die. I replaced the fuel tank and fuel filter. Now the truck will
run but squirts fuel out of the fuel return hose put a hose clamp on the hose under hood and it quit there but started leaking at hose near tank, put a hose clamp there and it quit leaking. Truck idles fine, but give it gas and it seems to be running only on 3 cylinders as you drive it, no power. Never seen fuel squirt out of return line before. I put 45 miles on it before replacing tank and it ran fine. When fuel started coming out of return line is when it started running like crap. stumped?

Fuel out of a return line is lines on top of the tank crossed...

Vent (Via Char Coal canister) to return and Visa Versa... IIRC.

Doh-de-doh... Do not ask me how I know:D

And with all that trash and what sounds like NO flush, I think your injectors are acting like fuel filters now...

That is to say, they're stopped up with deposits.

Next time flush as much as you can, as far up the line as you can.

Done been there, done done that... And have the hat to prove it.

If I switch the vent and the return lines it will run worse? I have another set of injectors I will try that.
