I just took apart and rebuilt my aisin carb and am trying to figure out where this spring clip goes.

Not sure if this is the idle positioner assembly area or high idle….. Wondering why I have not idle positioned assembly on my truck????

Before I took it off I was pushing down on the plate and this spring fell out and off…. I tried to figure out the best place for it while off but never could.

After searching photos I'm wondering if I'm missing parts? If I'm correct the throttle positioner goes into that green plastic plug on the plate.????
There was not one on my truck, and I believe all vacuum lines are hooked up...

The plate without anything holding it just flops to the bottom and the screw would never be long enough to even reach it…?? My best guess if there is NOT suppose to be the diaphragm is that it's got to hold this plate up near the screw so it could be adjusted…???

PLEASE HELP.

that clip goes into that green hole just as you have it in the pic.
then bring the other end up and around that threaded hole ear , just like the eye glasses hook around the ear.
then you need the adjusting screw/spring threaded in the hole.

THANKS

VICM. Thanks- That was my best guess and that's how I ended up hooking it up out of common sense but wanted to make sure… I had the screw and spring out just to make room.

Follow up question if you have the patience.

1. So then that screw and spring essentially does nothing since I don't have the TPS and Air Conditioning? i.e if I screw the screw down into the plate the clip just holds the stress and if the screw was longer it'd just bend it out and off…??/ am I correct?

2. Is the HIGH IDLE screw the flat head screw just down to the right then? almost pointing down when throttle is off and rotates up in full throttle.

I have to first say that I am no expert on carbs and it has been a long while since I missed with a 22r carb.
The only 2 screws I usually adjust to get my 22r carb tuned , # 1 and # 2 the mixure and idle .
The #4 I never had to worry about which I believe is the TP adjusting screw.
The # 3 I believe is the one you are reffering to , the fast idle adjusting screw, this one usually you check it after the engine is warm . The proceedure is similar to the one for setting the timing.
Any decent manual should have the proceedure for checking and adjusting it.
I hope this help.

Thanks VICM. perfect! I managed to get it running like a top! (well idling) I've yet to take it out on the road because I'm also doing the clutch at the same time.

I'm glad I dug into the carb though because someone at some point was trying hard to get it to run and every screw was WAY out of whack… I had to turn the high idle screw 3 turns before it did anything..!!

When I checked the rpms and timing it was below zero so I took it back to zero but then noticed that after hooking the vacuum lines back up it docent change…??? it will change if I throttle up though.. So I guess I need to dig into that and see what's going on but that'a a whole nuther'n.

Thanks for all the quick and helpful info guys.! love this forum!
