' 88 22R toyota pickup stumbling rough idle

So I just bought a 1988 toyota pickup and it runs good wen driving but at stops I have I give it extra gas I keep it from dying out when going into first gear.
First starts are usually harder than the rest of the day.
When idling the engine and truck rocks alot.
Any ideas??
