Stupid question -
How does one pull axles at a self-service wrecking yard?
When I called they said jacks aren't allowed in the yard.

The vehicle will be on "jackstands". The good news is that with the 60 all you have to do is undo the brakelines, ubolts and drivelines. Undo the shackle in the front and shackle in the rear let it fall down (be careful) and get the big a-frame hoist(s) they have and wheel it out to your truck.

Now it will be dirty on the ground type work, but fairly easy deal.

Jack

BTW, bring a BIG hammer and long breaker bar. U-bolts and shackle bolts are likely to be frozen.

Jack
Jack stands? Is that what they call the bent wheels they put under the frame?

If they won't allow a jack I'm guessing the blue wrench isn't going to be allowed either.

BTW it took a lot of restraint not to make a bad pun about Jack not being allowed in P&P.

I d also recommend a battery powered saw zall with lots of blades...]
BIIIIIG F'ING HAMMER TOO!

Okay, I wasn't thinking in terms of it being up on jacks (or rims or rocks) when I got there.

I've talked myself out of it for now.
Too much body work this year to worry about axles.
That and the DDs have decided to gang up on the credit card all of a sudden.:bang:
