85 pickup Temp gauge inop

Hello everyone. I have an 85 SR5 pickup that I bought a few months ago and have a problem with the temp gauge. Seems the gauge quit working awhile back as the previous owner installed an aftermarket gauge. Would like to get the factory one working again. I have the FSM and checked the sending unit. Also did the ground check at the connector but the gauge did not move. Anything I should look at on the circuit board or gauge itself?

OK. So I ohmed out the gauge and its bad. Anyone have a spare temp gauge? Not sure if you can replace just one gauge.

I don't believe you can. Or if you can its a lot of work verses just getting a new one.

Well, after taking the cluster out to check ohm on gauge I replaced cluster back in the truck and ground the sender wire and it works now!
