83 FJ60 stalling/sputtering when hitting the gas

Now this is new to me. Overpressurized tank interfering with the operation of the fuel pump. I suppose that's possible if the fuel pump was on its way out. If the fuel pump is old, I'd replace it with a new Toyota pump. I know (from experience) that if the fuel pump is good, the tank can get WAY overpressurized and the engine will still run normally.

Not sure if you read earlier but I did replace the fuel pump, maybe it was a combination of both. The old fuel pump I pulled out doesn't look original no marks and has porr machine marks (comparing it to the OEM one I put in) thanks again

Ok, similar problem I reckon. This comes to you from Wasilla, AK. My rig is an 86 FJ60 it has been desmogged, engine was rebuilt with an RV cam. I've replaced the Weber I thought was a good idea with a factory replacement Aisin from City Racer. I've verified the accelerator pump delivers a stream of fuel when throttle is applied. The tank is venting to the best of my knowledge. Fuel cut solenoid is clicking when I turn the key. The thing falls on its face after it warms up, it sputters and will not allow me to accelerate further. Maybe it's the fuel pump. Any more ideas out there in 60 land? Thankyou in advance
