6 oz of non detergent 30W

I used 80w-90 Gear oil. I don't think it matters, but Warn calls for 6oz of 30 weight.

If you use your winch in minus 30 degree weather then don't use 80/90, I use a mixture of auto tranny fluid and motor oil, doesn't leak, doesn't get hot and works when it is cold.

Since I don't use mine in -30 F, I put enough 75W-90 full-synthetic gear lube in to come up near the bottom of the drum bushing. Doesn't leak, works great so far including some long pulls.
