A running 8274 is worth real money-maybe $500 or more. A non-running project is worth less. Warn still has all the parts and are very helpful getting things back together. Their tech rep sent me diagrams and then called with additional advice, despite the fact that I bought a winch made 17 years earlier. Pretty cool.
Well, I bought what I think is an 8274...sn-207031, also has "LG1" stamped on the casting...if anybody has any other info on a warn winch with this sn and casting... will post pics after the weekend...
Reference the # on Warn's website, It should have a power in and power out and should free spool, look at the fair-lead and that should tell you how much it has been used. Parts are available but may not be an exact replacement, more of an upgrade but are expensive.
