8274 Clutch assembly

Is the clutch assembly supposed to have this small gap in it? Looks broken to me, but it seems to function properly.

Yep, it's broken. Run it, if it works OK. Perhaps a small hose clamp would ensure that it doesn't get worse and fall apart.

Used ones are available on eBay regularly if you don't want to buy a new one.

that holds the gear in the proper position.. to engage or dis engage the winch. if i use my winch its because i have too! id hate to be stranded because i wanted to save a few bucks. good choice on the replacement..
